Immigration Evaluations

Do you need a mental health evaluation to strengthen your immigration case?

Types of Immigration Evaluations

Immigration Evaluations are mental health assessments provided as evidence in an immigration case to help determine if an individual can remain in the United States lawfully.

Mental health evaluations for immigration can be used in the following cases: Extreme Hardship, VAWA, Asylum, T-Visa, U-Visa, and Cancellation of Removal.

Immigration Evaluation Process

When you request a mental health evaluation for immigration, an effort will be made to schedule the initial clinical interview one week from the first contact. Your clinical interview will be held online through a secure video platform. You will be sent intake forms that need to be completed to confirm the appointment. In addition, external sources of information and records (i.e., medical and legal records) will be requested before your first clinical interview session.

Client sessions can range from 2 to 4 hours but will be divided into two separate sessions. Your clinical interview will cover your background, mental health, and family history.

Your detailed, written report will be several pages of compiled data from the clinical interview, assessments, external sources and reports, and diagnosis (if applicable). Immigration psychological evaluation reports are typically completed three weeks after your last interview session.

Language Services

Interpretation services can be provided for over 200 languages, including sign language. Interpreters are familiar with both the legal and medical fields. However, if clients have an interpreter, they are more comfortable with; they can present their own.
